Campus Experience

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)

I applied for UTM in September 2019 and ever since I got accepted, I've been more or less excited about the new life I'm going to have here. Coming to UTM was a totally a new experience for me as I hadn't lived away from my family for very long.

When the time came for me to choose a college program, all I wanted was to be somewhere rigorous, challenging, and intense. And UTM offers something that most other universities in this nation don't: the opportunity for an intense, challenging conservatory program paired with a regular college experience, which I was really looking forward to. The ranking of the university was another important factor for my choice.

Upon arrival in the campus, the first thing that caught my mind was just how big and beautiful it was. At the beginning it was quite hard for me to navigate without google maps. Since I had a lot of time before registration, I got to explore the campus and enjoy the natural beauty that it bears.

I'm currently living in KLG Campus Residence, a private dorm located just outside the campus. Its a really good and well facilitated dorm and even though its a bit expensive than the other dorms inside the campus, I think its worth the penny.

I've met some amazing friends here in the university and they've made both my campus and dorm life easier and a lot more fun. They're always there for me and we've developed quite a strong bonding within the past couple months and I'm really grateful to have met them. I've also met some great seniors who are very friendly and helpful and they treat us like their family. It is truly inspiring and has encouraged me to be a well-rounded individual. The one thing most of us have in common is the love for football. We play football almost everyday and it has significantly developed our bonding.
